The Society

Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines (the “Guidelines”) govern conduct in every space we make available within The Society, including the Community Feed, Messages and direct messages, the Member Directory, the Job Board, Coaching Calls, live and on-demand sessions, and any other feature or space we designate from time to time (each, a “Community Space”). They are part of your Terms of Membership. We may remove any content, and may restrict, suspend, or terminate any member, at our discretion and without refund, including content we consider objectionable, harmful, or inconsistent with the purpose and standards of The Society, whether or not it violates a specific rule below.

1. The Standard

The Society is a professional, peer-to-peer community of dental professionals. Engage as you would with respected colleagues: be constructive, be honest, and protect patients, colleagues, and the community.

2. Prohibited Content & Behavior

2.1 Harassment and hate. No harassment, bullying, threats, or demeaning content targeting any person or group.

2.2 Defamation and “naming and shaming.” Do not post false or disparaging statements about identifiable people, practices, labs, vendors, or products. Share experiences factually and professionally.

2.3 No patient information (critical). Never post patient-identifiable information or protected health information. Before sharing a case, clinical photo, or scan, remove names, faces where identifying, dates, chart numbers, and any other identifiers. You are responsible for your own HIPAA and privacy compliance.

2.4 Accurate professional representation. Represent your credentials, title, and specialty accurately. Do not claim a specialty or certification you do not hold. The Society does not independently verify these claims.

2.5 No fee or pricing coordination (antitrust). Because members may compete, do not discuss, share, or coordinate specific fees, prices, discounts, salaries, or insurance reimbursement rates, and do not agree or encourage others to refuse to deal with any vendor, lab, insurer, or competitor. General education about practice economics is fine; coordinating what to charge or who to boycott is not, and may violate antitrust law. Violations will be removed.

2.6 Spam and solicitation. Do not use the community to solicit or advertise except where expressly permitted (for example, the Job Board or designated partner areas). No mass DMs, no unsolicited sales pitches to other members.

2.7 Confidentiality. Do not share session recordings, guest or speaker materials, or other members’ non-public content outside The Society.

2.8 Intellectual property. Only post content you have the right to post. Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other rights.

3. Direct Messages

3.1 Your controls. You choose who can message you: Anyone can message me, Requests only, or No messages. New members default to Requests only. You can change this in your settings.

3.2 Block and report. You can block any member and report a message or member from within the portal. Blocking stops further messages; reporting sends the matter to us for review.

3.3 Privacy of DMs. Direct messages are private and are not routinely monitored. However, when a message is reported, or where necessary for safety, legal, or enforcement reasons, we may review it.

4. Job Board

Job Board postings must be lawful, accurate, and non-discriminatory, and must comply with all applicable employment and advertising laws. Postings are member-generated content; The Society does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for postings, employers, or applicants. We may remove postings at our discretion.

5. Referrals (Refer a Friend)

You may share your personal referral link with colleagues who would want to hear about The Society. You send it on your own behalf; do not use it to send unsolicited or bulk messages. There is no referral reward or compensation.

6. Enforcement

We may take any action we consider appropriate, including a warning, removing content, limiting features or messaging, suspending, or terminating membership. We may act at our discretion and, for violations, without refund. Serious violations (for example, posting patient information, harassment, or threats) may result in immediate termination.

Reporting. To report content or conduct, use the in-portal report tool or contact support@insidethesociety.com.

7. Content Moderation & Takedown

We may remove or restrict any content that violates these Guidelines or the law. If you believe content infringes your intellectual property, send a notice to support@insidethesociety.com with the details required for a takedown request. The Society is not responsible for content posted by members.

8. No Endorsement or Ratification

The Society does not assume responsibility for, and shall not be deemed to have approved or ratified, any conduct or statements of any individual or third party solely by virtue of providing access or a platform. Participation on or use of the Society’s platform does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or other relationship between The Society and such individual or third party unless expressly stated otherwise in a written agreement.

9. Changes

We may update these Guidelines. Material changes will be communicated through the portal or by email.
